Gail Manogue (Kelly)
Gail P. Manogue, age 72, of Janesville died on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her home after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born in Chicago, IL on January 7, 1945, the daughter of Francis J. and Dorothy C. (Debs) Kelly. Gail graduated from Janesville High School in 1963 and later married her neighbor and high school sweetheart, David A. Manogue on May 18, 1968 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Janesville.
Gail was a very classy and outgoing lady, who was very proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, spending time with her children and grandchildren, bowling, gardening and traveling throughout her life. Gail lived her life to the fullest with her free spirit leading the way. Gail and Dave traveled throughout the United States and Europe. She took to riding her own motorcycle in her fifties and was still riding into her seventies. Recently went zip lining in Lake Geneva with family. Her home was immaculately decorated in Victorian style, which she was very proud of. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband for many years. She cherished her many beloved dogs throughout their married life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, times that were cherished by everyone.
She is survived by her husband of over 49 years: David; four children: Shannon (Kathy) Manogue of Evansville, WI, Brady Manogue of Beloit, WI, Molly (Bob) Hawkins of Brodhead, WI, and Megan (Richard) Lazcano of Janesville; grandchildren who she adored: Mike, Matt, Brenda, Keeley, Morgan, Shelby, Bailey, Tyler, Maddie, Gideon, Killian, and Lucia; and great-grandchildren: James, Kinley, and Carter. She is further survived by her mother: Dorothy Kelly of Janesville; sisters: Sharon Steed of Janesville and Maureen (Larry) Gillespie of Beaver, PA; brothers: Terry (Sandra) Kelly of Johnstown, WI, Duke (Sandy) Kelly of Janesville, and Gary Kelly of Johnstown, WI; sisters and brother-in-law: Phyllis and Robert Arnold, and Nanci Christenson, all of Janesville; many other relatives and friends. Gail was predeceased by her grandson: Nicholas Manogue; father: Francis J. Kelly; mother and father-in-law: Darrell and Mildred Manogue; brothers-in-law: Darrel Manogue, Jerry Manogue, and David Christenson.
Whitcomb-Lynch Funeral will host a visitation on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 3pm-5pm with funeral services immediately following, Deacon Jim Davis officiating. A luncheon will be served in the community room at the funeral home following the service.
A warm and heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at SSM Health Dean Medical Group for the care and support given to Gail during the last year. Also, thank you to everyone at Agrace HospiceCare for the dignified care, compassion, and support given to Gail and her family during her final journey. All of you are true Angels!
