Obituary for David McKee

David McKee
David D. McKee, age 54 of Janesville died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home. Dave gave the ultimate gift at the time of his death with the selfless donation of tissue and organs so that others can continue to live. Dave was born in Macomb, IL on November 2, 1962, the son of Richard and Pennie (Woeckener) McKee. He married Lynn M. Hall on June 27, 1986 in Janesville and together they had three sons.
Dave graduated from Parker High School in 1981 and attended Blackhawk Technical College for welding. He later went to work for Chrysler Assembly Plant in Belvidere working for almost 30 years. He was a member of UAW Local 1268 and Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed traveling in the United States as well as memorable trips to Ireland, Germany, and St. Maarten. Dave also enjoyed boating, riding his Harley, and spending time at his cottage on Lake Koshkonong. He also enjoyed a challenging game of cards and looked forward to his monthly poker club.
Dave was fun, loving, compassionate, virtuous, and a man of high integrity. He was a very generous, sensitive, and a hard-working gentleman. Dave was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan and a Wisconsin Badger sports fan, and enjoyed going to the games.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; three children: Travis McKee of Madison, Zachary McKee of Milwaukee and Ryne McKee of Janesville; his mother and stepfather: Pennie (Robert) McCarten of Janesville; his father and stepmother: Richard (Joyce) McKee of Roscoe, IL; and grandmother: Madolon Li Chan of Maui, HI. He is further survived by his sister: Brigitt (Bob) Franklin of Janesville; brother: Jasen (Karen) McKee of South Beloit, IL; stepbrothers: Shawn (Marci) McCarten of Janesville, Gavin McCarten of Janesville, Brandon McCarten of Darlington, WI, and Dan (Stephanie) Sickler of Loves Park, IL; mother and father in law: Bob and Alice Hall of Janesville; brothers and sisters in law: Lori and Rick Emerson of Janesville, Rob and Patti Hall of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and Rich Hall of Ft. Atkinson, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and his faithful Golden Doodle: Murphy. Dave was predeceased by his uncle: Stanley McKee and his stepsister: Patty Sickler.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
