Obituary for Ronald Kraus

Ronald Kraus
Ronald Lee Kraus, age 72, a longtime Janesville resident, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 18, 2017 at his home. Ron was born May 15, 1945 in Ft. Atkinson, WI, the son of the late Howard E. & Helen A. (Stueber) Kraus. Moving to Janesville as a boy, he attended school in Janesville, and was a graduate of Janesville High School, Class of 1963. Ron worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator, and was a faithful member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 139, until his retirement from the union. He was an “avid collector” of all types of things. He was a very private person, but was always willing to help anyone who needed a helping hand! Ron was a very talented musician, able to play drums, piano, and guitar. At the age of 16, he started playing with numerous area bands, sharing his love of music throughout his life!
He is survived by his 2 children, Douglas (Stacey) Kraus, of Middleville, MI, and Vicky Zajakowski, of Stevens Point, WI; his sister, Beverly Troemner, of Janesville; his 3 brothers, Keith (Jo) Kraus, of Evansville, WI, Sidney Kraus, of Loves Park, IL, and Bruce (Lori) Kraus, of Janesville; his 4 grandchildren, Kyle and Megan Kraus, and Anna and Mya Zajakowski; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Private interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Ft. Atkinson, WI. Memorial visitation will take place from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday at the FUNERAL HOME.
