Gordon McDonough
Gordon Lee McDonough, age 64 of Janesville died suddenly on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. He was born in Delavan, WI on October 9, 1952, the son of Kenneth and Katherine (Johnson) McDonough. Gordie graduated from Delavan High School and later married Alice “Angel” Keating on July 12, 1985. In his younger years with music being his passion, Gordie played in many area bands, most notably the Zyppyr Band. With his talent as a musician and his knowledge of electronics, Gordie was the sound technician at New Life Assembly of God Church for many years and operated his own company, Homemedia, LLC.
Gordie attended Blackhawk Technical College earning a degree as a design engineer working for several companies, most recently Kustka & Associates Engineering as their senior design engineer. Along with music being his favorite hobby, Gordie also enjoyed model cars, restoring cars, home remodeling, and Web designing. His outgoing and energetic personality will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife: Alice “Angel” of Janesville; his daughters: Kaylynn (James) Bolgrihn of Fitchburg, WI, and their children: Ethan and Sophia, and Christine (Will) Higgins-Witkins of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and their children: Nickolas, Elizabeth, and Thomas; his father: Kenneth McDonough of Johnstown, WI; and two brothers: Gary McDonough of Johnstown, WI and Gerald McDonough of Ft. Wayne, IN. He was predeceased by his mother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home with his good friend, Rev. Kurt Verhoeven officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made to Gordie’s family for a memorial to be established in his name.
