Alice Miller (Weeks)
Alice Ann Miller, age 84, of Janesville, passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 12, 2017, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. She was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Rosendale, WI, the daughter of the late Harold O. and Pauline P. (Lents) Weeks. On May 9, 1953, she married Frederick K. Miller at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Beloit, WI. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2000. Alice worked as an Assembler for Borg-Amphenol Corp. She then later received her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and began her career in Home Health Care. She was a woman of very great faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as a very strong, brave, and courageous person. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and loved to sing. Her greatest love was her family, and very much loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alice was a very devoted and loving wife, Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma!
She is survived by her eight children: Frederick K. (Alysyn) Miller, Jr, Paula (Morley) McCord, both of Janesville, Steven (Joanne Granman) Miller, of Tracy, CA, Harold Miller, of Milton, Randall (Sheri) Miller, of Janesville, Ron (Lana) Miller, of Viroqua, WI, Denise Miller and Angela Miller-Bestul, both of Janesville; her ten grandchildren: Tom, Trisha, Tracey, Deidre, Erica, Randy, Jeremy, Derek, Heather, and Ben; her 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, James (Patty) Weeks, of North Carolina; her sister, Rita (Woody) Thompson, of Janesville; nieces; nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Lee Bundy officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Thabor Cemetery in Beloit. Visitation will take place from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, or from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday at the FUNERAL HOME.
Alice’s family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation and thanks to the wonderful staff of the Hawthorne Home for the excellent and loving care they gave to Alice and her family these last years. You are all amazing people!
