The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kay Snyder can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Kathy (Zenner) Kocik
Condolence: Hello to Kay's family. I am sorry to be so far behind, but I recently fell while walking outdoors and broke my right kneecap and that has set me behind more than a bit! My husband Roy and I were classmates of Kay's at Newman High . . . Kay and I and a group of other girls always sat together for lunch, of course at the same table. I remember Kay as being very full of life and fun! I am certain she will be missed greatly by all family, life & church members & friends. My husband, Roy, died on September 15th, 2017, of Alzheimer's dementia. He had been ill for about 4 years, progressively becoming worse, until March 21st when I decided that I could no longer care for him at home. My twin daughters and one of my 3 sons helped to find a fitting "home" for him and it was truly a marvel that we found the right one immediately and they had a bed open! He lived there in relative comfort until his death.
I am a retired R.N. and the last 10 years of my working career I spent working on the inpatient Hospice/Palliative Care Unit here in Wausau at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Because of this, I am very familiar with death; Roy's Dad died while raking leaves with no warning; his mom died in 2000 after suffering many months with congestive heart failure and emotional/spiritual distress. I took care of many people at various stages of the end of their lives, but my greatest joy and fulfillment came from helping/assisting/supporting/loving the families of those who were ill and/or dying.
I see from Kay's obituary that she did not continue her Catholic faith. Mine is still an integral part of my life. If any of you are open to it, please look into the "Chaplet of Divine Mercy" -- St. Faustina was declared a saint by Pope John Paul II before his death which occurred on the eve or the day of "Mercy Sunday" == the annual celebration which is fairly new in the Catholic Church celebrated on the Sunday after Easter.
At any rate, I would like you to know that I loved your Mom/Grandma/Aunt/wife, Kay, and we had good times together while in high school. One of our Big Deals was the annual Homecoming parade, each class vying for best float. Our floats were made at Jan Schopf's home (biggest garage), she too has passed away, several years now, I believe it was cancer.
Peace be with you all.
with my love, Kathy

I am so sorry and so sad for your loss. Such a shock when I heard the news...
Over years we had a lot of chats in each others driveways. She was a sweet lady and will be missed.
Last time we talked I took a package to post office for her.
You have my Deepest Sympathy...
