Obituary for Carol Strunz (Arnold)
Caroline Ann “Carol” Strunz, age 75, a lifelong resident of Janesville, passed away Saturday evening, November 25, 2017 at the Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care in Janesville. She was born October 19, 1942 in Janesville, the daughter of the late Selvin & Constance (Nolan) Arnold. She attended school in Janesville, and was a graduate of Janesville High School.
On March 13, 1971 she married Kenneth R. Strunz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Janesville. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Carol worked in the Packaging Dept. for Swing-N-Slide in Janesville until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Nativity of Mary Parish.
She loved crafts and woodworking. Carol loved tending to her gardens, mainly raising vegetables. She was an avid puzzle solver, and especially working crosswords. She enjoyed bowling, and was a regular member of the Wednesday Senior League at Riversedge Bowl.
Carol is survived by her 2 children, Jolene (Robert) Hammond, of Evansville, and Jamie Strunz, of Madison, WI; her 2 beloved grandchildren, Nolan and Emma Hammond; her 2 brothers, Bob (Phyllis) Arnold, of Janesville, and Jack (Sue) Arnold, of Edgerton; her sister-in-law, Joyce Strunz, of Janesville; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Arnold; her 2 brothers-in-law, Dick Strunz and Glenn Strunz, and by her sister-in-law, Donna Strunz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Fr. Robert Butz officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the FUNERAL HOME.
