Obituary for Diane Butts (Hollyfield)
Diane K. Butts, age 72, of Janesville, died peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at her home. She was born in Janesville on June 26, 1945, the daughter of the late William H. and Bernice C. (Gilbertson) Hollyfield. Diane graduated from Janesville High School in 1963. She married Donald W. Holman and together they had three children. On August 8, 1978 in Ely, NV, she married Jerry L. Butts and together they had one son.
Diane was a very successful real estate agent in the Rock County area for over 25 years. Diane’s greatest times, were spending it with her family, especially her grandchildren, moments she cherished dearly. She also enjoyed traveling, watching movies, and cheering on the Brewers. Diane was a very passionate, loving, and determined woman, who will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband: Jerry Butts; four children: Carrie (Paul) Bolack of Henderson, NV, Kelly (Jeff) Faherty of Platteville, WI, Gary (Nicole) Holman of Delano, MN, and Timothy (Trisha) Butts of Janesville, WI; two step-children: Tammy (Kathy) Butts of Janesville, WI, and Kelly (Ron) Nobs of Evansville, WI; 8 grandchildren; and 2 step-grandchildren. She is further survived by a special niece: Sheri and her husband Chris; special nephew: Jerry and his wife Audrey; sister-in-law: Jan Hollyfield; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister: Arlene Smith; and her brother: William Hollyfield, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. David Nelsestuen officiating. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be served in the community room at the funeral home. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Memorial’s would be greatly appreciated if they were made in Diane’s name to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin.
