Obituary for Jacob Martin

Jacob Martin
Jacob L. “Jake” Martin, age 35, a lifelong Janesville, resident, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening in Janesville. He was born March 30, 1982 in Janesville, the son of Steven M. & Naomi J. (Varga) Martin. He attended school in Janesville, and was a graduate of Parker High School, Class of 2000. He worked in concrete construction. Jake was a hard worker at whatever task he was given. Jake will be remembered as a young man who had a huge heart! He was always thinking of others, and would be the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved his family, and was the best uncle to his twin nephews, Jimmy and JoJo.
He is survived by his mother, Naomi J. Martin; his sister and brother, Anna (Joseph) Martin-Frasier, and Matt (Erin Kennedy) Martin, both of Janesville; his nephews, James “Jimmy” and Joseph “JoJo” Marklein, and Theo Kennedy; his paternal grandparents, Lewis and Ruth Martin; his maternal grandpa, Charles Varga; his aunts and uncles, Gary & Debbie Martin, of Columbia City, IN, Nadine & George Schnell, Nanette and Stephen Bandt, and Carl and Kim Varga, all of Janesville; and by cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven M. Martin, on June 2, 2012, and by his maternal grandma, Arlene Varga.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Richard Lehman officiating. Memorial visitation will take place from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, or from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at the FUNERAL HOME.
