Patricia "Tish" Briggs (Weber)
Patricia Jo “Tish” Briggs, age 66, of Janesville died peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Janesville on April 15, 1951, the daughter of the late Melvin J. and Eunice B. (Zobrist) Weber. Tish graduated from Parker High School in 1969 and later married Michael B. Briggs on April 27, 1974 at the Church by the Side of the Road in Rockton, IL.
Tish was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother, who was always involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. When she wasn’t taking care of her family, Tish enjoyed refinishing oak furniture and going to garage sales with her girls and grandkids. She was a great bargain hunter and always brought home items for the grandkids. Tish was a very loving and genuine woman, who was the “mom” to all the kids in the neighborhood.
She is survived by her husband of over 43 years: Mike; children: Jenny (Mike) Fellows, Jessica (Matthew) Husen, and Beth (Josh Cookson) Briggs; step-daughter: Amy (George) Lynch all of Janesville; grandchildren who she was very proud of: Melanie Fellows, Ethan Husen, Reed Husen, Cody Briggs, Nick Lynch, Jake Lynch, and one on the way; her sister: Linda Hyne of Janesville; her brothers: Russell (Janet) Weber of Janesville, and Richard Weber of MO. She is further survived her by sisters and brothers-in-law: Diane Weber, Darrell Reents, Terry and Jeanne Briggs, Tim and Diane Briggs, and Sandy (Len Zimmerman) Pease; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-son: Jeff Briggs; her siblings: Vickie Reents and Robert Weber; brothers-in-law: Frank Pease and Ron Hyne.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home with Fr. Brian Dulli officiating. Entombment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made in Tish’s name to Agrace HospiceCare.
A very warm and heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, staff, and caregivers for the wonderful care and compassion given to Tish during her final journey.
