Julie Donovan (Malson)
Julie T. Donovan, age 55, of Janesville died on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 14, 1962, the youngest child of the late LeRoy and Frances (Oddson) Malson. Julie graduated from High School in Milwaukee and met her future husband Roger M. Donovan, when she went to visit her brother and sister in North Carolina. They were married in Jacksonville, NC on June 12, 1982 and together they had two children.
Julie travelled throughout the United States with her husband while he served in the US Marine Corps. They settled and raised their family near the beaches of North Carolina and once the children left home, they moved back to Wisconsin in 2008 to be near family. Julie was a very loving, caring, and likable woman, who could make friends with anyone. Her outgoing personality and smile, greeted everyone as if they were very longtime friends. Julie enjoyed bird watching, shopping, playing cards, and long walks with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband: Roger; and two children: Katrina Lynn (Edric) Plank and Shaun Michael (Krista) Donovan; grandchildren who she adored: Bryston, Lucas, Teagan, McKenna, and Alexa; her siblings: Moralee (Carl) Wendtland, August (Ines) Malson, Jim (Charlene) Malson, David (Jackie) Malson, Jon (Faith) Malson, Joan (Kevin) McGarry, Jean (Jim) Locy, and Janet (Charlie) Geise. She is further survived by her father-in-law: Roger James Donovan; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Cynthia and Ray Meives, and Robert and Jessica Donovan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers: Jacob who was her twin, and Michael, who both died shortly after birth; and her mother-in-law: Barbara Donovan.
Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
