The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Teresa Markee can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Judy
Condolence: Dear Mom,
I know I told you this before but I need to tell everyone. There is nobody I know who is as unselfish as you. You have lived your entire life for your children and your family. I know no other person who could be so generous and loving. You said to me, " I will deal with anything as long as God protects my children."
Though you had 12 chikdren and then all the grandkids and greats, you found a way to make us all feel special. When I went to college and had my hard times, you told me...there will always be challenges in life so do the best you can always no matter the chore.
You loved us all always and we love you. You showed by example that success is drive and hard work and never giving up. Your businesses, your sewing projects, and your love for your family are examples of how to live a loving, Christian life. Thanks for teaching all of us the way forward. We will miss you forever and love you but we know you are with God
And we will see you soon. Love you!

Condolence From: Tanner Flodeen
Condolence: We have lost an amazing person, a sister, a wife, a cousin, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a friend. She was the best in all those things. I do believe she will always be with us still, so we must remain as strong as we can and honor her and everything she stands for she deserves that. It definitely is one of the hardest things i have had to feel and deal with, but i will not disappoint you grandma and i will never ever forget you and all the beautiful memories i have. You are one of the most beautiful, strongest, and kindest person i have ever known. Anyone who has ever had the chance to meet her and know her was lucky. I have always looked up to you grandma..... besides having a million kids i still think you're crazy. You always laughed when i told you that. We all need to stick together and be kind to one another and forgive to honor her and uncle Bill. You never know when you will lose someone you love. Grandma you are missed and loved more than you even know. Please look down on everyone and help us to stay strong. I am so blessed that my little Leona got to meet you. You will always be my amazing, beautiful little grandma.

Condolence From: Christa Markee
Condolence: Yesterday the Markee family tree was shaken to its roots. The matriarch of our family, Teresa “Tree” Markee was taken from us. I will never recover from the unnecessary downward spiral of events I witnessed that lead to her passing. I need to focus on who my mother was and what a unique and beautiful individual she was. I will take solace in remembering our personal moments together and how special she made each one of us feel in this large, continuously growing family. Even if you’ve never met my mother personally, you know the kind of woman she was just by knowing any one of us. My niece Nicole states it perfectly:
“Yesterday, my life changed once again. The world lost a beautiful soul, my grandma Teresa A Markee. To say these past couple of months have been a breeze would be a complete lie. To say my faith and beliefs have remained strong would be an understatement. But here is what I do know, my grandma was a firm believer, quite possibly the hardest working women I know, and by far one of the strongest people in my life.

She was married at the young age of 18 to my grandfather William Bill Markee and embarked on a 64 year marriage. She raised 12 children and embraced their spouses and significant others as her own as the years went on. Those children gave her 38 grandchildren adding spouses and significant others into the mix… followed by 9 great grandchildren. In a family this large, one would think it is easy to get lost and forgotten. But she always had a way to make you feel special.

Life was never just handed to her… in fact she was still running her own business up until about 6 weeks ago (she was 82 years old). She taught her children to fight for what you want. To stay strong through EVERYTHING and to have faith. And at the end of the day, family is the most important. Those children taught their children, those same values and those will continue for years to come.

There is a little part of me that thinks her heart was so broken from losing my dad 5 months ago. Which, I am the first that can relate. I am so grateful that you were chosen to be my grandma and through that you gave me one amazing father. At times, I am sure I didn’t deserve either of you. Yesterday, you got to be with my dad again. And I hope your heart was whole again. ♥️”
