JANESVILLE---Paul R. Kjell, age 57, of Janesville, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at St. Mary’s, Madison. He was born in Merrill, WI on December 20, 1960, the son of Robert L. and Dolores D. (Strong) Kjell. Paul was a 1979 graduate of Craig High School, after graduation he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country for 8 years. He was always very proud and had great memories of his time in the Navy. He worked for Fairbanks Morse as a Diesel Engine Tester for 27 years until his sudden illness. He was a hard worker and took pride in his job. He lived his life to the fullest, he always said his greatest accomplishment was his three sons, and loved being a grandpa. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was very involved as a Road Guard for the MDA Tub Runs and was also a member of the Hog Chapter. He loved listening to ACDC, had recently started doing some photography, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Paul was an avid sports fan, NASCAR, Green Bay Packers and going to Brewer Games with his sons.
Paul is survived by the love of his life, Karen Jackson; 3 sons: John (Andrea) Kjell of Forrest Lake, MN, Benjamin (Samantha) Kjell of DeKalb, IL and Matt Kjell of Janesville; 5 grandchildren: Preston, Isabella, Greyson, Everett, and Maxson; 4 siblings: Karen Kjell of Edgerton, Kris (Dan) Peterson of Rhinelander, Katy (Mike) O’Shea of Stoughton and John Kjell of Janesville; 8 nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Lucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law/best friend, Gary Wickersham.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd., Janesville with a sharing of memories at 2:00 p.m. and Full Military Honors to follow the service at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m.
