Obituary for Mildred "Millie" Rothamer (Frahmann)

Mildred "Millie" Rothamer (Frahmann)
Mildred H. “Millie” Rothamer, age 90, of Janesville died peacefully on Friday April 20, 2018 at Huntington Place. She was born in the Town of Little Black, WI, on September 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth (Krug) Frahmann. Millie graduated from Medford High School in 1946 and later married Melvin O. Rothamer at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford on July 30, 1946. He predeceased her on May 6, 2012. Millie has been a very active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and School for many years.
Over the years, Millie has worked at McArthur Mink Farm in Illinois, Hough Shade, crossing guard for the City of Janesville, and the Wisconsin School for the Visually Impaired. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. Her proudest and happiest moments were being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. Millie was a woman of strong faith, and character, who taught these life values to her family, who continue to live by them.
Millie is survived by her children: Mark Rothamer of Janesville, Marjean (Jeff) Norder of Milton, Marilyn (Jim) Bondehagen of Janesville, Mary (Ed) Hookham of Janesville, and Margaret “Peg” (Dave) Schwartz of Platte City, MO; her grandchildren who she adored: Chris, Dan, and Rissa Rothamer, Ethan Gatzow, Nikki (Clayton) Peabody, Brian (Desseray Berry) Norder, Josh Norder, Megan (Matt Meskan) Bondehagen, Matt (Mary) Hookham, Tim (Amanda) Hookham, Sam (Kelly O’Hay) Hookham, Kimberly (Johnny Chan) Schwartz and Ericka (George Erik Botts) Schwartz; great- grandchildren who she loved dearly: Brooke, Madison, Liliana, Emma, Thomas, Isabelle, Tylor and Kale. She is further survived by her sisters: Elaine Bartelt of Medford and Dorothy (Ed) Kraemer of Medford; her brothers: Alvin (Geri) Frahmann of Medford and Richard Frahmann of Medford; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson: Nathan Rothamer; great-granddaughter: Kelsey Rothamer; and her siblings: Raymond Frahmann and Marjorie Jochimson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made in Millie’s name to Agrace HospiceCare.
A very warm and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Huntington Place and Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care, support, and compassion given to our mother. We were truly blessed to have all of you involved in mom’s life during her final journey. Thank you!
Food will be available during the visitation at the funeral home.
