Obituary for Stephen Schroeder

Stephen Schroeder
Stephen “Steve” G. Schroeder, 73, of Janesville died on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born August 16, 1944, in Greensboro, NC, to Dr. Jack D. Schroeder and Constance (Bleasdale) Tensfeldt. Steve graduated in 1962 from Janesville High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Williams on May 20, 1978 at Cargill United Methodist Church. He attended Milton College and graduated from UW- Whitewater. He was employed by General Motors and the Federal Government as an Internal Revenue Service agent accountant.
Steve was always on a spiritual Journey, as a student of history and the study and practice of Qigong. He shared his beliefs with others hoping it would be a positive force in their lives.
Steve was the happiest, and found peace and solitude when on, “The Farm-Meadow View.” He enjoyed watching the sunsets, looking over his land, watching the deer, riding his lawn mower and playing with his cat, Sadie. He said, “I feel so blessed to be able to live in Paradise.” When Steve was younger he enjoyed playing recreational softball and tennis. He was always ready for a fun game of cribbage.
“I thank you Steve for being a loyal, caring husband and for being my best friend for over forty years. Together we created many positive memories.” “Dad, you were the best father a son could ask for, always generous, loving and always cheering me on and being there for me.” We will hold you in our hearts and love you forever. We pray you have found serenity- until we meet again. – Mary Lou and Allen
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; son, Allen G. Schroeder; and his brothers, Brian (JoAnn) of Brentwood, CA, and Craig, of Lafayette, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepfather, Robert C. Tensfeldt. Memorials may be made in Stephen’s name to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, 3330 University Ave., Suite 300 Madison Wisconsin 53705 or to the Special Olympics Po Box 7638, Madison, Wisconsin 53707.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later time.
