Ralph H. McNeil, age 57, of Janesville, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at SSM Health/St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was born July 8, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late James R. & Gladys M. (Asplund) McNeil. On May 21, 1983, he married the former Cindy J. Danielson, his one true love, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Janesville.
He was the Owner/Operator of McNeil Heating & Cooling and had previously worked with Lloyd’s Plumbing & Heating. He loved working with his favorite employee, his son, Russell. He always enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge of his profession with both his children, and was known as the dad that could fix everything!
He loved working in Architectural Sheet Metal, and especially working with Copper. He was a true trivia buff and could debate History and Politics with the best of them! He loved animals and being in the great outdoors. Ralph loved nothing more than getting on his road bicycle and cruising the backroads. He’ll be remembered for his very welcoming nature, who would meet a stranger and instantly made a new friend! He loved everybody and, in return, most everybody loved Ralph! He was also a very generous man who would do anything to help someone in need. His family was everything to him, and their family trips will be remembered.
Ralph is survived by his one true love and soulmate, Cindy; his 2 children, Emily (Brian) McFarland, and Russell (Lindsay Peterson-Johnson) McNeil; his 2 brothers, Arthur McNeil and Glen McNeil; his 2 sisters, Melanie (David) Serafin, and Marcia McNeil, all of Janesville; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Gustaf Danielson and Alice Danielson, and his sister-in-law, Penny Danielson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at OUR SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2015 Kellogg Ave., with Rev. Carl Seeger and Rev. David Zimdars co-officiating. Visitation will take place from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, or from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Monday at the CHURCH.
