Obituary for Corey Brown

Corey Brown
Corey M. Brown, age 48, of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Janesville. Corey was born February 23, 1969 in Rhinelander, WI, the son of Patrick O. Brown and Karen M. Moes. He attended school in Rhinelander, and was a graduate of Rhinelander High School, Class of 1987. He then attended UW-Eau Claire, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
On September 11, 1993, he married the love of his life, the former DeAnna K. Schreiber in Rhinelander.
Corey adored his family, and his world centered on his wife and boys. He loved spending time with them. His younger son, Aidan, always had construction or automotive projects he would help with. Meanwhile, he would try to keep up with his older son, Ian in his cross country and track training. Every time Ian raced, you would always see him with his stopwatch sprinting across every inch of the race course. He left a legacy for his family to build upon and became an amazing role model for his children.
He was a sports fan of all types, and was a member of the wrestling teams at both Rhinelander High School and the UW-Eau Claire. He was a very avid fan of the Packers, Badgers and the Brewers. He enjoyed snowboarding, golf, fishing, and any activity in the great outdoors. Sharing stories over a bonfire with his brother, Shannon, and their father, Patrick, was one of his greatest pleasures.
Corey worked for Hufcor, Inc. in Janesville, starting in 1996, and was currently the Plant Manager at the time of his passing. He enjoyed his job and the people he worked with, and will be remembered for his strong work ethic and dedication to Hufcor.
Corey is survived by his loving wife, DeAnna; his 2 beloved sons, Ian Brown and Aidan Brown, both of Janesville; his mother, Karen Moes, of Rhinelander, WI; his brother, Shannon P. Brown, of Janesville; his step-mother, Emily A. Brown, of Rhinelander, WI; and by many extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, step-siblings, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Owen Brown.
Memorial services celebrating Corey’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. A memorial visitation will take place from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Sunday at the FUNERAL HOME.
