Obituary for Mary Jean Gregerson (Morger)

Mary Jean Gregerson (Morger)
Mary Jean Gregerson, age 78, of Janesville passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care in Janesville. She was born in Edgerton, WI on December 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Raymond X. and Bessie A. (Everson) Morger. Mary was raised on the family farm and learned how to drive a tractor at a young age. She graduated from Evansville High School in 1957 and later she moved to Beloit, where she met her soon to be husband, Donald E. Gregerson. Together they had 2 sons, and a daughter. Mary worked for many years at Parker Pen, and eventually went back to school, graduating from UW Madison, with her Occupational Therapy degree. After receiving her degree, Mary worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital and retired from Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
Mary was an excellent seamstress and quilter. Everyone cherished the beautiful quilts that she made. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who had a great sense of humor. She loved traveling, history, and most of all being a grandma. Mary’s smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons and their spouses: Matt and Ruth Gregerson of Troy, MO, Glen and Connie Gregerson of Evansville, WI, and her daughter and her husband: Dawn Perez and James Grigsby of Janesville; 6 grandchildren: Zachary (Kaitlin) Gregerson of Janesville, Joseph (Hallie) Gregerson of Janesville, Nicholas Gregerson of Madison, Mary O. Gregerson of Evansville, Tony (Ruth) Attlesey of Janesville, Vincent Perez of Madison; 1 great grandchild: Azelie E Gregerson; and a very close and dear friend, who was much like a sister: Cheryl Kennedy; and her cat who was a faithful companion: Izzy.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Richard and James Morger, and two sisters: Nancy Pells and Bessie Krueger.
A very warm and heartfelt thank you to everyone at Agrace Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Mary during her final journey!
Private family services will be held at a later date.
