Obituary for Sandra Jean Dobson (Dransfield)

Sandra Jean Dobson (Dransfield)
Sandra Jean Dobson, age 62, of Janesville died on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her home after a courageous eleven month fight with cancer. She was born October 1, 1955 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of David and Betty Dransfield. Sandra was a graduate of Janesville Craig High School, Class of 1973. She married Michael Dobson on June 17, 1978 at Cargill United Methodist Church, and together they had 2 sons, Chris and Carey. Sandra was employed as a warehouse associate at Grainger, retiring in 2014 after working there for 23 years.
Sandra’s family was her most prized treasure, and her grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, collecting flamingo items, fishing, gambling, and going to casinos. She also enjoyed crocheting things for others, including hats for fellow cancer patients. Sandra liked being outdoors watching jets and the birds. She was especially fond of looking for cardinals. Sandra will be remembered for her strong, loving, giving and selfless spirit. She was truly an amazing woman; a perfect wife, mother, and grandmother.
Sandra is survived by her husband: Michael Dobson; her sons: Chris (Toni) Dobson and Carey (Kristy) Dobson, both of Janesville, WI; her grandchildren of whom she was so proud of: Katlynne, Angelika, and Joey; her sisters: Susan (Bob) Fanucchi of Keller, TX, Diane (Terry) Way of Lincoln, NE, and Judy (Dennis) LaChance of Janesville, WI; her brothers: Alan (Penny) Dransfield of Milton, WI, David Dransfield, and Gary (Janice) Dransfield, both of Janesville, WI; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Mark Dransfield.
A Celebration honoring Sandra’s life will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Whitcomb-Lynch Funeral Home. Sandra was a strong advocate for autism, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sandra’s name to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road., 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540, www.autismspeaks.org.
Team Dobson would like to give a heart felt special thanks to the Oncology Team at SSM Health, Janesville, especially Dr. Omahar and the wonderful nurses; you were all amazing.
