Gilbert Elmer  Willing
Gilbert E. Willing, age 89, of Janesville died on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Cozy Li’l Acre Assisted Living. He was born in Janesville Township on November 9, 1928, the son of the late Edward and Lillie (Podewels) Willing. Gil graduated from Janesville High School and later married Kathleen Kessler on April 28, 1951. She predeceased him July 30, 1998. Gil was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hanover.
Gil retired from the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Belvidere and farmed in Rock County area for many years. He was a hard worker, loved being outdoors and was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Gil was a very generous, kind, and caring gentleman, who will be missed by his family and those who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Gail (Brian) Larson of Janesville, Linda (Robert) Cooper of Janesville, and Dale (Sherene) Willing of Whitewater; grandchildren who he loved dearly: Nicole Larson, Erik (Rebecca) Larson, Derek (Barbara) Cooper, and Renee (Jake) Moen; and his great-grandchildren: Kalista, Ki, Kenna, Brooke, Tenley, and Sierra who touched his heart with their smiles. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister: Gladys and brother: Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Vogel officiating. Entombment will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
